Web-COSI Website Launched

The Web-COmmunities for Statistics for Social Innovation website has officially launched today, two months after its official Kick-Off Meeting in Rome (read more here). We’d like to thank those of you who had joined our social media channels and mailing list before the projects launch and welcome all new visitors to this exciting initiative.

Web-COSI is a co-ordination action project with the general objective to improve the engagement of citizens and society at large with statistics in the area of new measures of societal progress and well-being. Under the mantra ‘Statistics for Everyone’, Web-COSI will be exploring innovative ways to bring the production, promotion, access and engagement with statistics to life. Using the opportunities given by Web2.0 the project, built upon the increasing trust in collectively generated statistics, will improve the collection, production and visualization of data towards the integration and complementarity of official and non-official statistics.

Web-COSI is very much a grassroots project designed with communities in mind. You can be involved in a variety of ways from simply registering to receive updates and sharing the Web-COSI project amongst your networks to attending the events, or even offering to host one of the activities.
